The ID card photo, front and back

The 3 by 4 cm format with a white strip is rarely made in the United States, and the consulate itself notes that these photo services are not common here. The strip sits inside the 4 cm height, along the bottom edge. On the back, write your surname and first name in capital letters.

  • Consulate only. A power of attorney signed before a US notary public is not accepted for the ID card. At the consulate, this proxy is free of charge.
  • Not for a first ID card. A first ID card cannot be obtained through a proxy.

  • Black and white instead of color
  • Fewer than six photos for the proxy
  • No name written on the back
  • White or light clothing at the consulate
