Prices are for sessions in our studio. Classic and Heirloom sessions can also be photographed on location for an additional $150.
On location in New York City
Some families are most themselves outside the studio. We photograph Classic and Heirloom sessions in a park, at a New York landmark or in your home.
- $150 on-location fee for anywhere in Manhattan. For Brooklyn, Queens and beyond, call us for a quote.
- Places families choose. Central Park, including Bethesda Terrace, Bow Bridge and the Mall. Brooklyn Bridge Park. Your own home.
- Weekends are available. On-location sessions can be booked on Saturday and Sunday by appointment.
- One location per session. Your session time starts when we meet at the location.
- If it rains, we reschedule your outdoor session at no charge.
- Permits and admission. If the place you choose charges admission or requires a photography permit, that cost is yours.

What we photograph
- Maternity. Portraits before the baby arrives.
- Newborns and babies. The first weeks, the milestones and the first birthday.
- Family portraits. It is hard to gather everyone you love under one roof. When you do, it deserves a photograph.
- Greeting card photos. A family photo for your holiday cards.
We are parents ourselves, and we work to make photos of your family that feel current now and will still look right in twenty years.
Which package is right for you
- Mini. A quick studio session for a holiday card photo or a single milestone.
- Classic. A full family session with prints to take home. The right choice for most families.
- Heirloom. More time and more images for a newborn, a first birthday or a larger family.
Before your session
- Plan around naps and meals. Babies and young children photograph best when they are rested and fed.
- Bring something familiar. A favorite toy or a snack helps a child settle in.
- Coordinate, do not match. Choose two or three colors for the family to share. Avoid large logos and busy patterns.
- Arrive a few minutes early so no one starts the session rushed.
Questions, answered
How much does a family photo session cost in NYC?
At ThisPix, family sessions are $149, $300 and $599 in our Midtown Manhattan studio. On-location sessions in Manhattan are an additional $150.
Can you take our family photos in Central Park?
Yes. Classic and Heirloom sessions can be photographed in Central Park or anywhere else in Manhattan for an additional $150. Popular spots include Bethesda Terrace, Bow Bridge and the Mall.
Do you photograph on weekends?
Yes, on location. On-location sessions can be booked on Saturday and Sunday by appointment. Studio sessions are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
Do you photograph newborns and babies?
Yes. We photograph maternity, newborns, baby milestones and first birthdays, in the studio or in your home.
How many photos do we get?
About 10 images with Mini, about 30 with Classic and about 60 with Heirloom. All of them are yours to keep. The edited images are 3, 6 and 10.
Are prints included?
Classic includes two 5x7 prints and one 8x10 print. Heirloom includes four 5x7 prints and two 8x10 prints. Mini is digital only.
What happens if it rains on the day of our outdoor session?
We reschedule at no charge.
What should we wear for family photos?
Coordinate rather than match. Pick two or three colors that the whole family shares, keep patterns small, and avoid large logos. Dress children in something they are comfortable moving in.

How to book
- Passport and visa photos. Walk in, or book ahead so we are ready for you.
- Headshot and family sessions. Book and pay online, or call us. Booking ahead is recommended.
- Weddings, fashion and commercial shoots. Inquire first. We confirm your date and send a quote, then you reserve with a deposit.
- Albums. Order online, and we contact you to collect your photos.
Deposits
$300
Weddings and fashion and commercial shoots are reserved with a $300 deposit, which is applied to your total. The deposit is fully refundable within 7 days of payment and non-refundable after that.

- Cancel up to 48 hours before for a full refund. After that, the session is non-refundable.

- Rain. If it rains on the day of an outdoor family session, we reschedule at no charge.
Passport photo guarantee
If your passport or visa photo is rejected, bring us the rejection notice and we will retake your photo free of charge.
Albums
Albums are made to order. Once we have received your photos and started your design, an album cannot be cancelled or refunded.
